Biography
PASTOR BERNARD. I. PURNELL, JR.
Pastor Bernard I. Purnell, Jr. is a native of Salisbury, Maryland. He has served God faithfully for the past thirty-nine years, ministering the Word of God in churches throughout the United States and other countries, healing the sick and setting the captives free under the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
Pastor Bernie was ordained as a Deacon at Zion Miracle Temple in Baltimore, Maryland, by Dr. Mary J. Matthews. In 1983 Rev. Purnell was ordained as an Elder and at a later date served as a Associate Pastor under Pastor Mathews. In 1994, he joined Church of the Living God in Hyattsville, Maryland under Pastor Stephen Gyremah where he served as a Associate Pastor.
During those formative years God blessed Pastor Purnell, with a Bible Study and Intercessory Prayer Ministry at the at the United States Post Office Headquarters, in Washington, DC. He served faithfully for twenty-two years where he was teaching and administering the Word of God under the power of the Holy Spirit.
God called Rev. Purnell to pastor God’s House of Prayer Ministries, Inc. in 2001, where he and his wife Renee Purnell are now ministering, preaching and teaching the Word of God in demonstration of the Holy Spirit of God and of power.
CO-PASTOR RENEE Y. PURNELL
Evangelist/Prophetess Renee Y. Purnell is a native of Vallejo, California. She was born to the late Pastor Henry and Missionary Eunice Simpkins in Fairfield, California. She grew up and attended school in Vallejo, California. She was raised by two loving Christian parents, and she is the seventh child of eight siblings. She has three children and eight grandchildren.
Pastor Renee accepted Christ in her life in 1978 and recommitted her life to Jesus Christ in 1989. She has served God faithfully. She has travel inside and outside of the United States preaching and teaching the Word of God. Many people have been healed and set free under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, while being used of God.
She was ordained in 1997 as a Minister at Covenant Church in Laurel, Maryland by Bishop Joseph McCargo and was ordained as an Elder in 2006 at Clear Voice Ministries in Roseville, California by Pastor Freddie Simpkins, Sr. Elder Renee Purnell was installed as Co-Pastor of God’s House of Prayer Ministries, Inc. in March 2007 after her marriage to Sr. Pastor Bernard I. Purnell, Jr., in November 2006.
Her favor scriptures are Luke 4:18, Isaiah 61:1 and Psalm 91. She believes all things are possible through Jesus Christ.
